Unraveling the SF Housing Boom through a Systems Thinking Framework

July 21, 2013 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

| Free

Systems thinking is a framework that examines problems by observing the web of interconnections that make up the systems around us. It helps you think broadly, identify unintended consequences to poorly constructed solutions, and better grasp the complex nature of society. Freespace is an example of a community system, which is complex, dynamic, and self-organizing.

In this 1.5-hour session, we’ll talk about systems that are everywhere, and learn the visual language of systems thinking that will help you put your mental models onto paper. We’ll collaborate as a group to build a model exploring the factors leading to the SF Housing Price Spikes. Come with an open mind, and leave with wisdom from others!
