Happy Mother’s Day, Earth! On Saturday May 10th, do-gooders around the globe will be venturing out to help Mama Earth with the spring cleaning.

This is the 4th Annual Big Mama’s Spring Cleanin, started by a small but zesty collective of artists, pace-setters, dreamers, and do-gooders: the Arts Diaspora. (www.artsdiaspora.com)

This year, San Francisco is kicking it up a notch, with a flash-mob MOOP Troop! (a What troop? Read on…)
A few things to know:
* Meet at [freespace] at 12pm
* Dress up! This years theme: Super Heroes
* Grab a bag, a route, and a pair of gloves (or bring your own), then head out into the city. You can join for as long as you want- every little bit helps!

When we return from our outings, we will sort through our findings and create an up-cycled art piece together!
…Then wash our hands and enjoy some drinks and treats. 🙂

About Big Mama
Inspired by the ethos of Burning Man, a leave-no-trace event, we set out and De-MOOP the world. MOOP stands for Matter Out Of Place, and the idea is simple: if you see something on the ground that doesn’t belong, pick it up! You may argue that it’s not YOUR gum wrapper/coffee cup/flyer that is littering the ground, but it is YOUR home. It’s all of our home, and if each of us took a moment or two to pick up after our messy brothers and sisters, our home would feel more clean and our Mama more cared for.

So on Saturday, 10th of May, as you are out in the world, keep your eyes open and your grabbin’ hands ready! With every scrap you gather, you are sharing a positive intention with people across the world. It’s pretty neat.
